Treat Yourself to Nanuku’s Serene and Soothing Lomana Spa

April 25th, 2017

Lomana Spa, at Nanuku Resort Fiji, is a heavenly sanctuary for relaxation and pampering. The private spa’s serene, tropical surroundings are reserved exclusively for Nanuku property owners and resort guests, who can refresh body and spirit with an array of luxe massage therapies and luscious beautifying treatments.

Here, bespoke spa treatments are provided by a staff of healers whose gentle touch employs traditional Fijian methods passed down through generations.

In Fijian, “Lomana” means “love”, and can also mean “gift”. Anyone who’s been will tell you a session at Lomana Spa definitely feels like a gift of love from Fiji to you!

From the moment you arrive and receive a welcoming hibiscus and ginger beverage, your Lomana Spa experience will be a indulgent treat for your senses.

Ready to immerse yourself?

First, a Tranquil Soak

Begin your spa experience with a soothing soak in a hot tub scattered with fragrant frangipani blossoms. Once your muscles are all warm and relaxed, you’ll be led to the treatment room — a quiet, shaded area where you can feel the ocean breezes and relax to the soft sounds of nature as you enjoy your massage.

Indulge with Pure Fiji Oils and Blends

Whether you have chosen to enjoy a body massage, a hydrating facial, or a soothing scalp treatment, the sensual fragrances of Pure Fiji lotions, body butters, sugar scrubs, and oils will surround you with pleasure.

Pure Fiji’s blend of cold-pressed coconut, dilo, macadamia, and sikeci (pronounced “see-ke-thee”) nuts revered for their medicinal and beautifying properties contribute pure, unadulterated nourishment, moisture, and protection for your skin and hair.

Lavender, pineapple, coconut, frangipani, lemongrass, honey, green papaya, passionflower, and mint are a few of the healing plants used in Pure Fiji products. Even before application, their scent swiftly transports you to Nirvana.

Try the Fijian Bobo Massage

The Bobo massage is a traditional healing massage passed down from generation to generation. This popular and effective massage uses different techniques combining long strokes, palm over palm, and kneading — with the goal of promoting total well-being. Nanuku owners and guests often express how energized they feel after this treatment.

International Expertise with a Personal Touch

Lomana Spa Director Wahyu Tiningsih is an expert in spa management with training and experience from the world’s top spa brands. These include the Shiva Tattva Yoga Foundation in Rishikesh, India; the Chiva Som International Academy in Thailand, and two of Bali’s most prestigious spa and wellness academies, the Bali International Spa Institute and Mapindo University. Prior to joining Nanuku Resort Fiji, she had roles at the Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa, the Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana in the United Arab Emirates, and the Swiss-Belhotel Borneo Banjarmasin, in Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Wahyu explains how she came to Fiji and Lomana Spa’s mission…

I had always heard that Fiji was a beautiful place that had to be seen to be believed. When I was given the opportunity to come here, I felt so blessed. I have discovered it’s not only aesthetically beautiful, it’s inhabited by the most wonderful, caring people — which only adds to its loveliness.

A spa should be a place of serenity and peace and love. Our guests feel that warmth when they come to enjoy our services, because we truly care about their well-being. Before any treatment, our spa therapists sit with our guests and discuss their needs. We share the selection of treatments available to them and discuss specific benefits of each. Beyond the standard offerings, at Nanuku we offer in-villa treatments, couples treatments, as well as treatments on the beach. At Nanuku, there are endless opportunities to be pampered. We do everything we can to help our guests become the best version of themselves they can be.

Surround Yourself with Wellness and Well-Being

In keeping with the Lomana Spa’s goal of providing comprehensive wellness guidance and support, Ms. Tiningsih can be found consulting with Nanuku’s chef to discuss healthy food options, offering private and group yoga and meditation sessions, and encouraging fitness activities like hiking nearby Burelotu or challenging workouts guided by Nanuku’s personal trainers.
