Renowned Grounds Kent Architects bring to life the Beach Villas at Nanuku
Internationally decorated architectural firm, Grounds Kent Architects (GKA), are hard at work completing designs for the prestigious Nanuku Beach Villas, located oceanfront at Nanuku Resort here on Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu.
A history of design excellence around the globe
For more than two decades, GKA have designed culturally unique resort hotels in countries such as Australia, China, Barbados, Maldives, Malaysia, Thailand, and Morocco, with an emphasis on the use of local and natural materials, incorporating culturally appropriate design, in symbiosis with the topography and environment. They’ve garnered numerous accolades over the years, including two-time winner of the coveted Conde’ Nast Traveler award for “The Best Hotel in the World.”
The vision comes alive
The celebrated architectural firm recently sent several key team members (from their home office in Perth, Australia) to Nanuku to finalize their planning for these coveted beachfront villas. We took that opportunity to talk to Jeff Treverton (lead architect and partner) about GKA’s experience and their vision for the Beach Villas at Nanuku…
The open, free-flowing living floorplans beautifully blend outdoor and indoor living. Each Beach Villa at Nanuku presents an all-inclusive, turnkey living experience that reflects the authentic heritage of Fijian culture, while offering a privileged lifestyle that is without precedent in the Pacific. “We don’t simply create living spaces,” says Treverton, “we create memorable experiences. And we are thrilled to be working with Nanuku, which I consider one of the best small boutique resorts in the world.”
